Have you ever found yourself wondering “What exactly is Self Esteem, anyway?”
What Does “Self Esteem” Mean?
You must have. I would be shocked if you haven’t.
Why do I think this? Because it’s my favorite topic to talk about and I have wondered the same thing!
The concept of “self esteem” is so overused, I wonder, “How do I get people to understand what I’m talking about?”
My Affirmations Kinda Answer This:
I have worth because I was born.
“Worth”. And even that word is confusing.
What about “VALUE”?
How do you VALUE yourself?
Where does your VALUE come from?
- Does your value come from what you achieve in life?
- How you provide for your family?
- How other people view you?
- What you have?
- Your inherent personal traits?
Do you see the E-A-S-A in the above questions?
Remember: E- Esteem, A– Achievements, S– Society (what people think of you), A– Assets/Attributes
Think of Self Esteem as Value
When people think, “I am worth less than somebody else”, they are really thinking, “I have less value.”
I have worth because I was born
I have value because I was born
Worth and Value are the same
